09h00: Enjoy Township Breakfast at the Soweto Hotel: a delectable selection of typically traditional township breakfast of sautéed chicken livers and Jeqe (dumpling), magwinya (vetkoek), Atchaar, and condiments and mdoko (sour porridge), accompanied by a selection of hot and cold beverages, and fresh fruit and yoghurt;
10h00: A walking tour to the neighboring Soweto Kliptown Youth Center - to visit the children’s feeding scheme, nursery school;

A walk to the African Tavern for a mid-morning sip of African Beer (sorghum traditional brew);
11h30: Visit Oom Bolo’s home museum for lunch selection of a journey of traditional South African Fare: phutu, maas, Indian curry, mogodu and samp, morogo, and more;

A walk back to the hotel to refresh and prepare for the next leg of the tour.
12h30: A driven tour through Pimville to Baragwanath Taxi Rank. This is a park and walk tour through the market and taxi rank;

Baragwanath Taxi Rank walking tour includes stopping for a bite under the bridge at the traditional Cow’s Head (inhloko) with Phutu and uMhluzi , and nibbling on roasted maize, and roasted peanuts;
14h00: Next stop is Vicky’s bakery in Klipspruit for coffee and tea, and to buy take-away cakes and goodies for your midnight snack later on!
15h00: Arrive at Morara Wine Emporium in Mofolo, where the best South African wine selection in Jozi can be found. This is owned by Mnikelo who is the founder member of the Soweto Wine Festival; A sundowner of one of these delectable wines can be enjoyed at Masakeng Pub next door whilst you unwind with the locals dropping in for a drink.
16h30: A drive to Maponya Mall where Mdu is waiting for you at the Bath House & Beauty Spa for a back, shoulder and neck massage to take away all the stress and nerves of Jozi’s breakneck speed!
17h00: Drive back to the hotel where you can unwind for the night and soak in a bubble bath as you sip your Kliptini (alcoholic or non-alcoholic cocktail made from traditional ginger beer), and off to LaLa Land in a deluxe room at the Soweto Hotel after a long day and satisfying day of the Taste of Soweto.

See you for breakfast the next morning – where you will bounce out of bed rested and refreshed and ready for another hearty breakfast!
