Following
on the phenomenal success of the annual Motorcycle Toy Run, the Kassie
Toy Run, now in its 3rd year, is also gaining momentum as a significant
annual charitable event. This year’s ride will take place on
Saturday, 5 December 2009 in Soweto and for the first time, will start
at The Soweto Hotel on Freedom Square.
The Kassie Toy run, a cavalcade of more than 100 motorcycle riders distributing
between 3 000 to 3 500 toys to various orphanages in Soweto, will leave
The Soweto Hotel on Freedom Square at 09:00 on Saturday, 5 December and
will end the trip at the Maponya Mall, Old Potch Road. The riders are
sourced from motorcycle clubs in Soweto.
“
Giving back to the community is always a blessing and key to our vision
and mission, especially when it’s a cause that is focused on our
children. This is our first involvement in the KToy Run, but we hope
to establish a long lasting relationship with the team that tirelessly
works so hard to bring joy to the little ones,” says Lindiwe Sangweni
Siddo, general manager of The Soweto Hotel on Freedom Square.
The toys donated to the orphanages are acquired from the Gauteng Toy
Run, scheduled for 29 November 2009 at Nasrec.
