The Soweto Hotel is meeting expectations!

The Soweto Hotel & Conference Centre has expanded its service offering to the lucrative meetings and incentives industry. The hotel now boasts two new boardrooms with complementary facilities. “These boardrooms open up a dynamic new market for us,” says Rebecca Kambule, new business development manager of The Soweto Hotel & Conference Centre. “We already have bookings for these venues and have no doubt that this will add value to our service delivery”.

“Our brief was to ensure that the corporate or business user would have every contemporary technology feature available at their finger tips,” continues Kambule. The boardrooms display hi-tech equipment such as electronic drop-screens and full audio visual speakers, wireless connectivity throughout, E-beam technology to facilitate easier white board discussions and teleconferencing facilities.

These boardrooms are named in honour of South African women who played a key role in our liberation struggle and are located on the 3rd floor, named Malibongwe. The 16-seater boardroom is the Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Boardroom and the 8-seater is named after Helen Joseph. “Both women have world-renowned profiles and are icons who dedicated their lives to ensuring this freedom that we sometimes take for granted,” says Kambule. “This is just our way of giving them the recognition that they deserve”.

The interior décor of the boardrooms maintain the warm African colours reflected throughout the hotel’s stylish décor and marries the cultural significance of some artifacts and photographs with modern elegance. Delegates will be treated to delectable catering from the hotel’s executive chef, Jafta Hatshejame including freshly baked pastries, finger lunches and buffets in Jazz Maniacs. “We will also customise meals for any requirements,” explains Kambule “Chef Jafta is always up for a challenge”.

The Soweto Hotel & Conference Centre is a 4-star facility and has 46 Deluxe Standard Rooms and 2 Presidential Suites. Inter-leading rooms are available for families and groups. Rooms are equipped with televisions (with a broad bouquet of local and international channels), coffee/tea making facilities, wireless connectivity, hairdryers and in-room safes.
