Junior
has worked as a Demi Chef at the Cobblestone Restaurant located at
Monte Casino from 2001 to 2003. This vibey Restaurant has a simple
but heart warming menu, featuring some of Junior’s personal
favorites like the Oxtail braised in red wine and herbs. Juniour
then joined the Restaurant & Banqueting Services at Monte Casino
from 2003 to 2004, as a Demi Chef – specializing in buffet
style dishes. Junior’s move to Kliptown, Soweto began at the
Classique Grillhouse where she worked as the Kitchen Manager. She
then joined the Soweto Hotel on Freedom Square in 2007 as a Chef
de Partie. Junior is part of the team that has developed the Township
Style Menu that features old time favorites of the world’s
icon, former president Nelson Mandela, such as Farida Omar’s
chicken curry or the bread and butter pudding with hot custard, just
like how Gogo used to make it!
Junior brings a unique touch to the kitchen equip of that heavy
dose of homely cooking that our mothers and gogos treated us to growing
up, of tasty comfort food cooked with a lot of tender loving care! |
